Launched December 2018, Nieuw Statendam carries forward the nautical heritage, signature service and classic style for which Holland America Line is known-while raising the bar for 21st-century elegance. Sister ship to Koningsdam, she's the second of our Pinnacle-class ships.
Guests onboard Nieuw Statendam will love her interiors, created by brilliant hospitality designer Adam D. Tihany and legendary ship architect Bjørn Storbraaten. They feature all the hallmarks of Pinnacle-class design: grand light-filled spaces, visual drama and sumptuous interiors inspired by the fluid curves of musical instruments. A beautifully appointed mid-sized ship with elegant lines, she proudly reflects more than 140 years of Dutch seafaring tradition.
At the heart of the ship, Nieuw Statendam's central atrium is breathtaking. Soaring three decks high, the atrium is capped by a ceiling that serves as a backdrop for subtly changing high-definition projections. By day you'll see wispy cirrus clouds floating overhead. In the evening, the atrium takes on dramatic lighting hues or reflects the clear constellations of the night sky.
With sophisticated décor and amenities, staterooms aboard Nieuw Statendam provide a welcoming haven at the end of an eventful day. Designed with input from our guests, they feature thoughtful modern touches such as bedside USB ports, frameless shower doors and customized wood cabinets. Like her sister ship, Nieuw Statendam also offers exclusive Family Ocean-view Staterooms that can accommodate up to five people, and specially designed single staterooms for solo travelers.
The World Stage
Breaking from the line's traditionally styled theatres, the World Stage is a flexible space that can have multiple stage configurations, ranging from in-the-round to the more conventional proscenium staging. The theatre will initially host five new productions performed in repertory by a cast sourced from around the world. Entertainment meets innovation with a new main theatre design that surrounds the audience with a 270-degree LED screen.
Grab one of our signature burgers by the pool at Dive-In, choose sophisticated ambiance in our elegant dining room, spend a romantic evening in the Pinnacle Grill or enjoy in-room dining any time of day.
Boasting an expansive range of enrichment facilities and opportunity, Holland America Line's ships are bound to offer something you'll want to know more about.
Dazzling entertainment options abound on board Nieuw Statendam. The new Lincoln Center Stage and Billboard Onboard venues join the already popular B.B. King's Blues Club for a complete new "Music Walk" experience.
Onboard activities abound, including intimate tasting and wine-blending classes at BLEND by Chateau Ste. Michelle.
Whether you want to workout in the Fitness Centre, learn yoga, pamper yourself with a massage and spa treatment, or enjoy a game of basketball, there's a perfect onboard activity for everyone.
Rejuvenate at our Greenhouse Spa, take a Pilates class or simply relax and unwind.

The HAL crew works very hard to make sure that every aspect of your cruise meets the highest standards. This includes those crew members who serve you directly, such as Dining Room wait staff and the stewards who service your stateroom each day. There are also many others who support their efforts whom you may never meet, such as galley and laundry staff. To ensure that the efforts of all of their crew members are recognised and rewarded, a daily Hotel Service Charge is automatically added to each guest's shipboard account.
The daily Hotel Service Charge*, per guest per day, is:
Staterooms (interior, ocean-view and verandah) US$14.50
Suites US$16
*The charges are subject to change without notice.
If their service exceeds or fails to meet your expectations, you are free to adjust this amount at the end of each segment and/or voyage. The Hotel Service Charge is paid entirely to Holland America Line crew members, and represents an important part of their compensation. A 15% Bar Service Charge is automatically added to bar charges and Dining Room wine purchases. In terminals, airports, ports of call and on shore excursions, we suggest that you extend gratuities consistent with customary local practices.
