About Star Clippers
The world’s most spectacular Tall Ships…
Star Clippers operates three of the world’s largest and tallest sailing vessels. Visiting intimate ports often untouched by larger cruise ships and offering passengers the activities, amenities and atmosphere of a private yacht, Star Clippers is recognised as one of the premier speciality cruise lines.
Passengers can enjoy the romance of sailing on board a true tall ship in a relaxed atmosphere with high standards of service provided by an attentive crew. All three ships have expansive teak decks, swimming pools, informal dining, a convivial Tropical Bar and a comfortable piano bar.
The Star Clippers Experience…
The gentle lapping of waves against a wind driven hull. A pod of dolphins playing in the curling bow wave. A salute to a propitious marriage, the wedding of a splendid cruise holiday with the romance of sailing aboard a true tall ship. It is the unique combination of sailing tradition and pampered relaxation that is the essence of Star Clippers. For within the setting of a magnificently evocative Tall ship is a world for those who seek an authentic sailing adventure without sacrificing creature comforts.
These graceful ships fly along the waves, just like the legendary clippers of a century and a half ago. And this is as much an adventure in highly evolved relaxation as it is in tradition. For though computers have not replaced the skilled hands of the crew in the art of raising sails, guests are not expected to become barefoot seamen. Relax and let the crew do the work.
Sail into paradise on one of many Caribbean cruises, take a vintage trip across the pond on a transatlantic cruise, or explore some of the more intimate ports of Europe. Whichever you choose, you're sure to be greeted by new and unforgettable scenes which will never leave you.
Now come aboard Star Clipper, Star Flyer or Royal clipper, the largest true, fully-rigged sailing ship in the world today. As thousands of square feet of sail unfurl above you, you will feel the elation of those mariners of long ago. Because this is Star Clippers and the adventure has only just begun.
Water Sports - a number of different water-related activities are complimentary on board, such as Kayaking, Wind surfing, snorkelling and swimming
Get involved - Passengers can get involved with sailing the ship, climbing the crows nest and pulling the ropes
Delightful cuisine - Our inspired chefs make dining aboard a delightful culinary adventure with an international menu of foods from corners of the Earth.

Top Itineraries from Star Clippers
Sicily & Amalfi Coast
Join Royal Clipper in Rome and admire the beautiful coastline of rocky coves, sandy beaches and crystal clear water en route to Palmarola and Ponza. Then visit Sorrento, whose city walls rise straight out of the sea! Why not visit nearby Pompeii where the ashen remains of ancient Romans lie frozen in time.
Royal Clipper then sails on to chic and picturesque Amalfi before continuing on to beautiful Taormina, the town that inspired Goethe to say that “It is the greatest work of art and nature”. Finally, cruise to the largest of the volcanic Aeolian Islands, Lipari, where you can explore the cliff-top citadel and as Royal Clipper sails past Isola Strómboli, watch the sky for frequent volcanic fireworks on your return to Rome...
Athens, where your cruise departs, is a city for all eternity and walking in the shadow of the Acropolis you can almost hear the voices of Plato, Socrates and Aristotle arguing about who was the greatest philosopher. The beautiful island of Rhodes, your next port of call, has a rich and varied history and Bodrum - known in ancient times as Halicarnassus, is the site of King Mausolu's Tomb, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Dalyan River, a lovely, unspoiled lake teeming with fish, a lush marshy delta and verdant farmlands is a picture one hardly expects to see in Turkey. On shore, you can see ruins of the Lycian city of Caunos, with its basilica and fortifications looming over the green marsh. The island of Santorini is perhaps the most breathtaking of all the Greek Islands and one of Star Clipper's most memorable stops. Your ship calls here before reaching your final port of call Hydra, where donkey is the preferred mode of transport as there are no cars on the island!
Spain & the Balearics
Fly from your local airport direct to Palma, Mallorca, one of the most compelling ports of call in the Mediterranean, where you will begin your 7 night cruise. Towering over the harbour, Palma's stunning Gothic cathedral is a powerful symbol of the religious fervour which gripped all of Spain shortly after the defeat of the Moors, and hides a maze of twisting streets lined with designer boutiques and open-air markets. The nearby Balearic islands of Formentura and Ibiza await, with beautiful beaches and hidden delights beckoning visitors from afar.
Star Flyer continues on to the Spanish mainland, with stops in the captivating city of Valencia and Catalonian Sant Carles de la Rapita, south of the beautiful Delta del Ebro, before returning to the Balearics and the ever-popular island of Menorca. Your journey concludes back in Palma, via Pollenca, where the port offers spectacular views across mountain and sea...
Monaco, the fabled domain of Princes and movie stars, retains its gilt edged allure with opulent casinos and the magnificent Palais du Prince - reminding you of an elegant, pre-war era. In L'lle Rousse, why not take an excursion to the peninsula of Cap Corse, where medieval watchtowers dot the cliff tops every few miles. Moving on, Bonifacio's almost land-locked harbour is one of the most dramatic, totally protected harbours with a bustling port and modern marina. Star Flyer then takes you to Porto and through the Scandola Nature Reserve before arriving to the small island of Porquerolles, where the rugged hills of the Massif des Maures subside into the eternally-blue sea. St Tropez, a true highlight of this cruise, is a people-watcher's paradise and it is said that the most spectacular way to approach its exquisite harbour is by sea. Finally, glittering Cannes is the archetypal Mediterranean resort city where every year, the stars flock to celebrate the Cannes Film Festival at the colossal Palais des Festivals...

Ian Warren – 20-12-2013 – Star Clippers - Royal Clipper
Although I had looked around Star Clipper before, I had never been at sea in one of the Clipper ships. Therefore when the opportunity arose to visit Barbados, and then spend 3 nights onboard Royal Clipper cruising to Antigua, I didn’t need to think about it for too long. I give details below of my review of the trip, as well as some facts and figures for the ship.
Ian Warren – 28-10-2010 – Star Clippers - Star Clipper
Star Clipper is one of those ships you really need to see first hand, to have any chance of understanding the true nature of the experience offered, and I have wanted to visit her for a long time.
Jane Bowen – 25-05-2010 – Star Clippers - Star Flyer
Just returned from the seven night Monaco F1 Grand Prix cruise on Star Flyer. Booked it almost a year ago, as did most passengers on-board. Spoke to only a few who had booked since January. We arranged our own flights, so cannot comment on transfers, etc. Some had come by train or driven to French Riviera.
