Sunday 23 April 2017 what a very early start, thank God; as I missed the turning for the airport so this made me slightly later catching up, to then find that the airport meet and greet has completely changed and after a little bit of stress and going in one car park ticket and paying to leave the car park.
I managed to find my way to the Meet and Greet.
Once on board on the plane I fell asleep for a while which was just as well as it was extremely early.
I arrived into Munich airport the plane was slightly early, great however the luggage, my piece of luggage was the last piece on the conveyor belt.
Although the plane landed early, I was now - so I thought - late for my transfer, panicking and racing through the airport. Munich is a big airport.
I am sure that my brain stays at home as soon as I arrive at an airport!!
I made my way to the transfer desk to be told I had to wait until 12:30 for the other passengers!!
I thought it would be rude not to try famous German sausage whilst waiting for my transfer from Munich airport to Passau.
I embarked on the ‘Amadeus Rhapsody’ and was greeted with a very warm welcome by Erika the cruise director. My cabin had a lovely big bed and the accommodation was comfortable. A good shower and plenty of drawer and storage space.
The bar and restaurant staff and Hotel Director were all so welcoming and warm genuine staff. The Captain was also friendly and approachable.
I would go as far to say this small ship ‘Rhapsody was the friendliest yet professional cruise staff I have ever experienced!!
A tour to Melk Abbey, the guide was informative and quite a way of explaining without sounding monotonous Melk Abbey was so worth the tour.
On to Vienna, an evening concert at the Kursalon Theatre was beautiful and pure escapism.
We had departed from Passau en-route to Vienna the city of music beautiful buildings amazing history king in Queen Monarchy Princess Elizabeth-known as Sisi. Different experiences and truly amazing following the evening by a wonderful concert with arias from Mozart and Amadeus.
I had taken a wonderful walking tour of some of the gardens, monuments castle the Summer Palace all those beautiful rooms outstanding and beauty.
I took a romantic horse and carriage ride around the Gardens of the summer Palace – based on the Garden Versailles.
Budapest by day was also delivered with so many monuments and churches, amazing scenery panoramic views from the castle breath-taking.
As I sit in the Panorama lounge waiting for my transfer to the airport I reflect on the last 4 days.
Last night the ship took a river cruise up the Danube to see all the different reflections from the buildings and the colourfulness of the twinkling lights on the water.
It was stunning and memorable on the top deck taking photographs all the beautiful Architecture, buildings in Budapest aligned with the river.
River cruising is so peaceful and beautiful scenery; the Danube has the some of the prettiest Riverside scenery and well worth experiencing. I want to do it all over again.
