Ships That You Can Look Forward To For 2019 - December 2018
GoCruise – 13th December 2018
As an exciting 2018 cruising season comes to an end, we look towards the sailings that will be on offer in 2019. One of the largest factors to a successful cruise is the vessel you are sailing on, something that can really make or break the holiday experience that you are looking forward to.
Taking some time to research what each ship offers in terms of dining, entertainment and shore excursions (and obviously where they sail to) should be at the forefront of your mind when making this decision. We have already created a blog highlighting what Spectrum of the Seas will bring to our oceans next year. So, here are the new ships that are coming to our seas in 2019.
Marella Explorer 2
More of a redesign than a new ship, Marella Explorer 2 is currently sailing in China as SkySea Golden Era and was originally Celebrity Century back in 1995. The ship will be undergoing major refurbishments to create the brand new sister to Marella Explorer, but will be a first within the fleet as an adults-only vessel.
On board, you can expect the same Marella Cruises experience, including a Champneys Spa, brand new Broadway shows and dining venues that include Asian fusion restaurant Kora-La. With the ship being the first of its kind to be catered to adults only, the Veranda will be doubled in size.
After the highly anticipated sailings of MSC Bellissima early in 2019, MSC Grandiosa will carry nearly 6,300 passengers across its 331-metres when she launches in November. Much like the other vessels in the fleet, she will feature exclusive shows from Cirque du Soleil, extravagant dining that will let you explore the corners of the earth, and a tranquil fine arts museum.
Making a reappearance is the stunning 111-metre-long indoor promenade, highlighting a range of restaurants, bars and shops that will be open during the day and night. Lastly, new additions on board MSC Grandiosa will include brand new ‘cluster cabins’ for families, a double-deck indoor amusement park and an extensive outdoor water park.
As the fourth member of the Breakaway Plus Class, Norwegian Encore is certainly one of the best vessels launching in 2019. Perfect for families and solo cruisers, the extensive entertainment on board will have you shouting “encore!” Featuring a go-kart race track, Aqua Park and even a laser tag area that has been inspired from Atlantis, there is plenty to get involved in whilst cruising to your next port of call.
If that isn’t enough, sample some of the finest dishes at sea and soak up the nightlife with the award-winning show Kinky Boots (winner of six Tony awards). Combine all of this with the jaw-dropping décor found in every suite to make an unforgettable cruise.
Heading towards the end of 2019, Sky Princess will arrive as Princess Cruises’ fourth Royal-class ship, sailing through the heart of the Mediterranean and Caribbean. She will contain 12 different dining venues, from traditional Italian pizza to famous world favourites and sweet ice-cream bars. Indulge in all of this whilst admiring the stunning views during the day or under the dazzling night’s sky.
After eating to your heart’s content, guests can enjoy a host of guest entertainers, exclusive shows and art galleries. During the day, Vegas-style casinos, top deck pools and exclusive shops are just a few of the activities that are available to everyone.
Finally, the last ship to enter our seas for the 2019 season is Carnival Panorama, starting her inaugural season in Baja Mexico. Made with both families and couples in mind, Panorama will have some exclusive firsts to cruising. The Sky Zone trampoline is at the top of the list, open to adventure seekers of all ages. Whether you just want to roam the park or get involved in the number of open events, you can try out gravity-defying dodgeball or practice your slam-dunking skills.
After a long days’ worth of adventure, you can sink into the night with some fantastic shows such as Lip Sync Battle: Carnival or Playlist Productions. From the casual dinners to the suit and tie events, everybody is welcome to try culinary delights from different restaurants, each based on different continents from around the world.
