The phrases “Wow!” and “Game Changer” are often used when trying to find the adjectives to summarise something impressive. More often than not, though, this only leads to disappointment when the product fails to live up to expectations. Surprise and excitement has been surrounding Royal Caribbean’s new Quantum class ship Quantum of the Seas and this is a cruise ship that really does live up to the hype.

Dubbed “the world’s first Smartship” the 1,139ft Quantum of the Seas can accommodate 4,152 passengers and provide each of them with amazing experiences and lasting memories. Robotic bartenders, bumper cars, surfing simulators, viewing pod and a sky diving simulator all feature on this $1 billion cruise ship. And that’s just the beginning!

Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas has something for everyone - but if you’re still not convinced - check it out for yourself! Thanks to Google Street View, you can explore various areas of this amazing ship for yourself.

Pool Deck

No cruise ship would be complete without somewhere to relax on the top deck during those days at sea and Royal Caribbean does not disappoint. With plenty of sun loungers to go around and even a designated area for little ones, the pool deck is the perfect location for a spot of pure relaxation.

Bumper cars on a cruise ship. That statement alone is revolutionary for the world of cruising but SeaPlex delivers even more. As the largest active space on a cruise ship, SeaPlex also provides a roller-skating venue and basketball court. Additionally, SeaPlex also features a floating DJ booth that will transform the arena into a dance party.

North Star

Modelled on the London Eye, this viewing deck is the first of its kind on any cruise ship and allows passengers to take advantage of 360 degree vistas, 300 feet above the sea. The North Star provides passengers with an awe-inspiring experience. Passengers can also take advantage of private packages in the North Star including champagne and post-flight dinner.

Ripcord by iFly

Imagine returning from your cruise and telling your friends and family that you were able to go skydiving – on a cruise ship! Rip Cord by iFly is a 2.5 metre chamber which gives passengers the chance to float in an unforgettable experience.

Sit in the Two70 lounge at any point during the day and you will be treated to fantastic 270 degree vistas. Come back at night, however, and watch six robotic screens spring to life to transform the lounge both visually and physically. The use of light projection, powered by Vistarama, along with the robotic screen creates the perfect arena for a number of stunning shows and performances.

Virtual Balcony Room

Feel like you’re missing out from great sea views with inside cabin? On Quantum of the Seas, having an inside cabin no longer means you are excluding yourself from the fantastic sea views. Virtual balconies create a sense of light and ambience with real time views and sounds from outside the ship. Just flick the switch and the 80 foot, floor to ceiling, high resolution LED screen comes to life to form a perfect viewing platform.

As stated earlier, Quantum of the Seas is able to boast something for everyone and the Solarium provides the perfect escape for adults looking for a sense of peace and quiet. Whether you decide to relax in the Jacuzzi or unwind with a good book on one of the loungers, the Solarium offers that opportunity.

The Living Room

Whilst adults are finding the perfect escape in the Solarium, young children and teenagers can take advantage of a range of facilities exclusive to them. One of these facilities is the Living Room, which provides a chilled lounge atmosphere with a range of facilities including table football, games and large television screens.

Jamie's Italian

Fresh pasta made daily on board and a beautiful menu (along with an award-winning kid’s menu) designed by Jamie Oliver provides the perfect setting for a wonderful family meal. Jamie Oliver hasn't just introduced his restaurant on the seas; he has created another dimension to cruise dining with Royal Caribbean.

With so much delicious food available on a cruise, it's also important to have the facilities in place to balance things out should you choose to do so. The on board gym does not disappoint, with a vast array of equipment to maintain any fitness regimes.
